Tap in to water –the ultimate sports drink

The Mako have replaced Powerade with the ultimate sports drink – water!

The Mako will carry the message that water is the healthiest drink onto the field and also into the stands: All Mako home games will see kids aged 12 and under offered water rather than sugary drinks.

Watch: In the video below, Mako players get some tips from tamariki to help them stay top of their game this season.

Mental wellbeing for our young people

Working alongside the Graham Dingle Foundation we are promoting mental resilience for young people. We want to show Kiwi kids that their personal strength and resilience can overcome any obstacle.

Promoting responsible alcohol consumption

Home games at Trafalgar Park and Lansdowne Park will feature alcohol-free family zones. This is a commitment by Tasman Rugby to promote responsible drinking and to remind us that you don’t need alcohol to enjoy watching the game.

Smokefree

There will be a renewed focus on promoting smokefree environments at Trafalgar Park and Lansdowne Park.

Community engagement

Nelson Marlborough Health will work with Tasman Rugby to promote healthy lifestyles among junior and club-level rugby players. We think it’s important to inspire healthy choices at the grass roots level.
