Maori mental health services
There is a small dedicated Maori Mental Health team within the Community Assessment Team.
They are qualified and experienced clinicians who culturally assess and consider intervention pathways for Maori who are over the age of 18 years with severe psychiatric conditions.
Self-referrals can be made, or by general practitioners, hospital specialists, community agencies, and family or friends with the client’s permission.
Kaupapa Maori community support
Te Piki Oranga provides a range of mental health services, including community support services, in Nelson and Motueka.
