Midwifery education
Education days and workshops are provided free of charge to all registered midwives in the Nelson Marlborough region.
If you are a Nelson Marlborough employee you can book courses through HR Kiosk. If you are self-employed please book directly with Samantha Tsironis.
Postgraduate education
Midwives can access postgraduate education at four teaching institutes nationwide. Midwives who meet eligibility criteria can also apply for Health Workforce NZ funding to support their ongoing education.
Midwifery complex care programme
We support core midwives who meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the national midwifery complex care programme.
This is a postgraduate-level programme where midwives can develop their knowledge and skills in specific areas of practice such as diabetes or pregnancy complications.
Self-employed midwives are invited to apply and would be supported by Te Whatu Ora - Nelson Marlborough, as required.
