Doctors’ strike 18-20 October: Is your appointment affected?
Nelson Marlborough Health is preparing for the absence of some of its resident doctors during a 48-hour strike from 18 October.
Please be assured that, unless you hear from us directly, your appointment at Nelson or Wairau hospital on 18 or 19 October is unaffected.
We will contact you by phone if your appointment needs to be rescheduled, but if you want to check, please use the department phone number provided with your appointment card.
Background information about the strike
On 3 October Nelson Marlborough Health, along with all other New Zealand district health boards, was issued a strike notice by the New Zealand Resident Doctors’ Association (NZRDA).
This advises a strike by some of our Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) who are members of the NZRDA for 48 hours from 7am 18 October until 7 am 20 October.
