The Nelson Marlborough District health Board funds a number of Maori health services across the district.
This covers everything from nutrition initiatives, drug and alcohol, pregnancy, diabetes, child and youth community support, to life span services and much more.

Maori kaupapa.

In addition to these agreements the Board plans to increase the level of spending on ‘By Maori for Maori services.’ Funding is being directed toward physical activity and nutrition initiatives with a view to reducing obesity and long term chronic conditions which impact on Maori (e.g. Smoking, heart disease, diabetes in Maori and respiratory illness). |
