Nelson Marlborough Health does not employ a plastic surgeon directly within the region. The Hutt Valley District Health Board provides a service to Nelson Marlborough Health. This service includes referral, triage, outpatients and theatre.

Outpatient clinics are held each month at Nelson and Wairau Hospitals for patients travelling to Lower Hutt for surgery.
