Surgical outpatient services
When you have a medical problem that may require surgery or specialist advice, your General practitioner (GP) will request an appointment through the outpatient clinic with the appropriate specialist.
Surgical outpatient services are provided for a range of specialties by a variety of health professionals, including specialist doctors, nurses, technicians and allied health staff. Outpatient clinics are held in the Outpatient Departments by resident and visiting clinicians and nurses.
Surgical outpatient services include:
- General surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Urology
- Ophthalmology
- Ear, Nose and Throat
- Dermatology
- Plastic surgery
- Orthotics
- Wound / vascular clinics
- Plaster / fracture clinics
Waiting times are dependent on the urgency of your case and you will be advised of these both for your first specialist assessment and if required, surgery.
