Midwifery first year of practice (MFYP)

Further information about the programme is available on the New Zealand College of Midwife website.
2017 midwifery education calendar
Education days and workshops are provided free of charge to all registered midwives in the Nelson Marlborough region.
If you are an NMH employee you can book courses through HR Kiosk. If you are self-employed please book directly with Vicki Berryman.
Midwives can access postgraduate education at four teaching institutes nationwide. Midwives who meet eligibility criteria can also apply for Health Workforce NZ funding to support their ongoing education.
Midwifery complex care programme
NMH supports core midwives who meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the national midwifery complex care programme.
This is a postgraduate-level programme where midwives can develop their knowledge and skills in specific areas of practise such as diabetes or pregnancy complications.
Self-employed midwives are invited to apply and would be supported by NMH as required.
