Second strike notice issued from NZRDA

The New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association (NZRDA) has issued a second strike notice on behalf of all union members which will involve the full withdrawal of labour for 48 hours for 8:00am on Tuesday 29 January 2019.

Nelson Marlborough Health prepares for NZRDA strike

Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) is preparing contingency plans to minimise disruption to the public during the planned nationwide strike next week by Resident Medical Officers (doctors in training) who are covered by the New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association (NZRDA) collective employment agreement.

Notice for expectant women and their families

Midwives who are members of the midwifery union MERAS are going on strike twice a day for two hours between 22 November and 5 December.

Nelson and Wairau hospital maternity units, and the Motueka Maternity Unit, will remain open and operational during the strikes. At all times during the strikes there will be a midwife available.

Women should come to their scheduled appointment unless they have been contacted to say their appointment is being postponed.
