A new era for local rugby: Kicking sugar to touch

In a first for NZ rugby, Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) has sponsored Tasman Rugby Union (TRU) teams, replacing the TRU’s former agreement with Coca Cola/Powerade, to become the union’s official health and wellbeing partner.

A call to action: Let’s keep measles out of the Top of the South

While increasing numbers of people are hospitalised with measles in Auckland, and the more cases are confirmed in South Island cities, the disease has not yet been confirmed in any Nelson, Tasman or Marlborough residents.

Let’s keep it that way, says Dr Andrew Lindsay, Medical Officer of Health with the Nelson Marlborough Public Health Service.

“This is the biggest outbreak in more than 20 years, with more than 800 cases to date. This is a serious, life-threatening disease that is very, very difficult to contain – as we’re seeing in Auckland.

Seddon boil water notice lifted

Seddon residents can finally safely drink their tap water, with the lifting of a long-standing 'boil water' notice.

On 26 August Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) gave approval to the Marlborough District Council to lift the notice, following the completion of a series of checks by NMH Drinking Water Assessor David Speedy.

Kids help launch the 2019 Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal

The 2019 Countdown Kids hospital appeal was launched at Nelson Hospital last week, with special guests from Health Kids Kindergarten putting a smile on hospital and Countdown employees' faces.
