'When bad things happen to good boys' book launch


When bad things happen to good boys, a true account of sexual abuse suffered by a group of boys, published by Nelson Male Survivors group.

The book brings to light the effect that sexual abuse against children has on the lives of the victims and their families.

Up to 1 in 6 boys and 1 in 3 girls are victims of sexual abuse before they turn 16.

As well as the book the national award winning Bristlecone project will be welcomed to Nelson. Founded by Dr David Lisak in 2013 it features a selection of eight, still images from the exhibition of male survivors from Nelson alongside their stories of sexual abuse.

NB: This will be a confronting night and may not be suitable for everyone.
