Throat cancer survivors find their voices again


Two throat cancer survivors aren't letting their loss of voice stop them from speaking out about the importance of HPV vaccinations.

 Bernard Sanders and Stephen Christie spoke to Fairfax journalist Hannah Bartlett and photographer Martin De Ruyter about their experiences since being diagnosed with throat cancer.

 Emma Burns, Speech and Language Therapist at Nelson Marlborough Health sees the damage the HPV virus can do.

 She works with both men to improve their speech, swallowing and other ongoing side-effects from the treatment.
