HPV Vaccination for boys now available
The school immunisation programme has been extended to include Gardasil 9, which protects against additional strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV).
Boys may transmit the virus and can develop head, neck or anal cancer.
The Gardasil vaccination programme was launched in 2008 to protect girls and is now available free to year 8 girl and boys.
