Project Whakatupuranga - One step closer
Jenny Black, Chair of the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board was delighted to see the appropriation of funding for the redevelopment of Nelson Hospital announced in this week’s budget.
Budget 2022 recognises the need to start the redevelopment of the Nelson Hospital as a priority capital project and includes funding for design and enabling works.
“A new Nelson Hospital is going to be great for the people of Te Tau Ihu, and personally, I think this is a fantastic result for both our staff and our community.
“Investing in health infrastructure as part of reforming the Health System is not only essential for patients and whānau but for staff too,” Jenny explains.
