Start a conversation that counts

16 April is Conversations That Count Day to raise awareness about advance care planning so people start thinking, talking and planning for their end of life care.

Gabrielle Stent, Alliance Support Manager – Health of Older People says supporting someone to develop their own Advance Care Plan is like giving a gift – one of the few times in their life when it is ‘all about them’.

“Families and loved ones have a lot of stress on them when someone becomes unwell or terminally ill,” she says. “Having the conversation about what’s important to you will help ease that burden when the time comes.”

Encourage your mates, girlfriends and work colleagues to start their own conversations. Not sure how to break the ice? Need help to plan who to talk to and how to start the conversation? For further information visit the Advance Care Planning website.
