April Falls: Health stands proved popular

Live Stronger for Longer is the theme for the 2018 April Falls campaign.

To help promote the notion that falls are everyone’s business, and to raise awareness of falls related injury prevention, the allied health team held health stands at Wairau and Nelson Hospitals.

Anyone passing could have their bone density tested, do a falls risk self-assessment and also complete a quick quiz to go in the draw to win a $20 cafe voucher.

Debbie Hawkey says the stand in Wairau was very successful and generated a lot of conversation and education, with both the public and staff members.
“The resources proved to be really beneficial for people to take away and we received a lot of positive feedback. An activity well worth doing.”
