Little daffodils brighten Wairau Hospital
Today marks Daffodil Day, and to celebrate, the oncology department at Wairau Hospital is displaying artwork made by children at Uptown Preschool.
The little daffodils, aged one to five, were welcomed to the hospital yesterday to see their creations.
Vicky Spence, Specialty Clinical Nurse Oncology, said that the team are delighted with the splash of sunshine in the corridor.
“Thank you to everyone involved for brightening our department and making it a welcoming space for patients, their whanau and kaimahi."
The oncology department diagnose, treat and care of patients with cancer in the Nelson Marlborough.
Every year, Daffodil Day is organised by the Cancer Society with the aim of encouraging communities to work together to change people’s experience of cancer.
One in three New Zealanders will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, and this can take a toll on them and their friends and whānau.
