Latest emergency operations update from Nelson Marlborough Health

Significant aftershocks are still occurring in the Top of the South region.  However, there are no new reports of damage to Nelson Marlborough health facilities.

Staff  are cleaning up visible signs of plaster on the floors and loose fittings in some buildings, although this superficial damage does not affect the use of the buildings.

The Emergency Operations team are being proactive and working with Canterbury DHB to ensure we have adequate supplies for the next few days while transport links are disrupted.

The Nelson Marlborough Public Health Service has issued some important health messages concerning water and sewerage.

The public are reminded to follow the ‘Drop, Cover, Hold’ Civil defence message during the period of aftershocks.

Updates are posted regularly on our public website and on our Facebook pages: Nelson Hospital, Wairau Hospital and Nelson Marlborough Health.
