COVID-19 case confirmed in Blenheim: Get tested, get vaccinated

Have you been at one of the same locations as the Blenheim or Christchurch COVID-19 cases?

Find out and follow the instructions. Or if you have even the slightest of cold symptoms and live in Marlborough, Nelson or Tasman, please get tested (even if you've been vaccinated).

The locations of interest have been confirmed and are listed here (enter 'Blenheim' or 'Christchurch' into the search box or use the map view).

Read about symptoms to be alert to on the Ministry of Health website here.

If you need your first or second vaccination, please get this. Vaccination clinic locations across the region are listed on our webpage here.

Testing is available at:

Blenheim CBAC: Horton Park, off Redwood St

  • Open 10am to 2pm on Saturday to Monday (30 October to 1 November)

Nelson: Free from your GP or after-hours clinic

Phone Healthline for advice about whether you need a test and to find the closest option to you: 0800 358 5453

Or find the closest option to you on the Healthpoint website.

Nelson Marlborough Health response

An Emergency Operations Centre has been established to co-ordinate responses across our Public Health Service, primary health organisations, community and hospitals. In addition to the community testing site:

  • mobile testing is available if required
  • PPE use and staffing has been increased in emergency departments
  • labs are ready to process an increased number of tests
  • vaccination teams are on standby to increase vaccination in response to increased demand

Effects on healthcare services

There are no current effects on healthcare services across our region, other than the increased provision of testing. Our healthcare facilities are open with the appropriate precautions in place. Patient appointments and visiting hours are not affected.

Next steps

Our Emergency Operations Centre, Public Health Service and the Ministry of Health (MoH) teams are monitoring the situation and will provide further public health advice if, and when, required.

Further updates and advice will be published on MoH and NMH websites, in media releases and on MoH and NMH social media accounts.
