Census counts for health funding

Nelson Marlborough Health Chief Executive Dr Peter Bramley urges all Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough residents to complete the Census survey as the results directly influence funding for health services in the region.

“Census results are used by Statistics NZ, who collect and analyse the results to help determine health service funding for our communities.

"We need every eligible staff member and resident to complete the survey, telling Statistics NZ that they live in the Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough region so that they can be counted towards health funding for our region.”

Dr Bramley says that it's also important to support others complete their survey. In our hospitals, orderlies hand out Census forms to patients and do what they can to help them complete the survey.

"If you have the opportunity to help someone you know complete Census online, please do so. This is the first NZ Census that has been offered online and some people might not find it as straightforward as others."

Here is all you need to know about how to complete your Census survey this year.
