Advisory Committees
The Board has established the three statutory advisory committees
and they comprise up to seven members each. Membership includes
Board members, community members (appointed by the Board after
public nominations/applications) and Iwi Health Board representatives.
Committees meet six-weekly and meetings are open to the public
to attend. They are usually held in Nelson City and Blenheim but
also sometimes in other locations to facilitate public attendance.
Parts of the meetings may be closed if the business to be considered
requires it (Committees, like the Board adhere strictly to the
criteria and rules applying to the public excluded meetings set
out in the NZ Public Health and Disability Act 2000).
Meetings are advertised to the public, along with Board meetings,
on the 20th of each month and agendas are available for inspection
in line with the statutory requirements and the Board’s policy.
