The New Zealand Guidelines Group was established by the National Health Committee (NHC) in 1996 as an informal network of expertise and information on guideline development and implementation. The primary purpose in establishing the New Zealand Guidelines Group was to train health and disability professionals and consumers in the development and implementation of best practice guidelines. The long-term aim is to help facilitate a culture change among all stakeholders in health care and disability support to improve the quality, effectiveness and equity of service provision.
