NMDHB has two main functions. Firstly responsibility for determining and meeting community health needs through planning and funding of personal health, Māori health, mental health and some disability support services. Secondly, we continue our commitment to being a leader in the provision of efficient, high quality hospital, health and disability services.

We continue to develop as an effective District Health Board, including improving our links with other service providers and the community. This website provides a further opportunity for doing this.
