The NMDHB NETP Programme is Nursing Council Approved and CTA Funded. The purpose of the NMDHB NETP programme is to ease the transition from student to practising Registered Nurse. The programme is designed to consolidate professional knowledge and support the development of clinical expertise to develop confidence and competence in clinical decision making.
The programme is clinical practice-centred. Each placement is supported by a comprehensive orientation, with the support of a trained preceptor. Nurse educators and the NETP programme co-ordinator will provide regular study days to enhance professional growth, and support the development of a portfolio to meet level 2 Competent Registered Nurse on the NMDHB Professional Development and Recognition programme.
Positions offered will be either 0.8 -1.0 FTE and may be permanent or 12 month fixed term, these will consist of either 2 placements of 6 months duration or 12 month placements.
Positions will be available in Wairau Hospital in Blenheim, and Nelson Hospital, and will offer rostered and rotating shifts, available in the following areas below
• General Medicine
• General Surgery
• Orthopaedics
• Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation
• Operating theatre
• Psychogeriatric service
Mental Health Service positions will offer six month rotations across two Mental Health areas negotiated with the successful applicants, graduates will complete the Whiteriea PG Cert in Mental Health Nursing.
Positions in the Primary Health Care Sector in Blenheim and Nelson Districts will be with individual primary health sector employers. Graduate nurses in these positions will join the NETP learning programme delivered by NMDHB in collaboration with Nelson and Marlborough PHO's. Hold a nursing degree from a New Zealand nursing programme approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
Hold New Zealand registration within the registered nurse scope of practice.
Hold a current annual practising certificate with no restrictions on that APC that would negatively impact on their ability to participate in the programme
Have graduated within the past year and have not practised as a registered nurse for longer than six months at the time they commence the programme.
Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident

Interviews will take place in Nelson between September 27th to September 29th.
