This page provides key information and dates about the 2010 DHB Elections. District Health Boards are made up of seven elected Board members and four ministerial appointed Board members. The Minister also appoints the chair and deputy-chair for each DHB. Elections are held every three years in association with local body elections.
Triennial elections for elected members of all local authorities throughout New Zealand, including district health boards, are to be conducted, by postal vote, on Saturday 9 October 2010. The elections will be conducted under the provisions of the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Electoral Regulations 2001 and the New Zealand Public Health & Disability Act, 2000. City/district councils conduct the district health board elections on behalf of the district health boards.

Candidate names will be listed in psuedo-random order on the voting documents. The order of candidates will be determined by lot by a Justice of the Peace at the offices of electionz.com, Level 1, 506 Wairakei Rd,
Christchurch at 4pm on Friday 20 August 2010.
